*April 6, 2019 – “Rock of Ages” Historic Tuscumbia Free Walking Tour, Cold Water Books, 101 W. 6th St., Tuscumbia, walking to Dickson Street to learn about the historic churches in early Tuscumbia. Focus will be on two historic churches, St. John’s Episcopal, built in 1852, and First Presbyterian Church, built in 1828. Commentary will be included on the founders of the churches as well as the architecture of them. Particular attention will be paid to those settlers who attended the churches and were instrumental in the growth of the church and the town. This tour is led by Ron Hudson, Tuscumbia resident. This is the 1st of 4 April Walking Tours that will begin at 10 a.m. each Saturday morning. Handouts will be provided each Saturday.
